“Me thinks he doth protest too much.”

Many have pointed out that Obama and the Democrat’s faux outrage over Bush’s “negotiate with terrorists” remarks represents a confession of sorts.

As Shakespeare put it, “Me thinks he doth protest too much.”

(from K-Lo):

Obama: “George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists . . .”

Obama: “I would meet directly with Iranian leaders.”

The State Dept. (few “neocons” there!): “Iran remain[s] the most active state sponsor of terrorism.”

Sometimes it’s not necessary to “call a spade a spade” if the spade whines in denial anytime one gets near his guilt zone. As John Bolton said about Bush’s speech,

“I think that the president hit the nail on the head yesterday in Jerusalem. And today, the nails started to complain.”

Well said, Mr. Ambassador.
