Tracking Saxby and Johnny

Day In, Day Out has a series of lists of Republican Senators documenting where they are likely to fall on Shamnesty II – Return of the Dead. Unfortunately, Georgia’s Senators Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson are in the wrong category:

Toss-ups
Warner (R-VA)–up for re-election; voted for bill last time, but, w/Webb, he might not switch
Sanders (I-VT)–who knows! He’s independent!
Coleman (R-MN)–up for re-election; voted for bill last time, but has been more critical now
Isakson (R-GA)– the Georgians are tough: both voted against cloture before
Chambliss (R-GA)– but are more favorable to ultimate bill now….
Pryor (D-AR)–up for re-election; voted in favor of bill last year, but more critical now….

Senators, we need to see you in the “Very Unlikely to Switch” category. You’re “Toss-ups” now, and that has to change, so let’s be clear about a couple of things:

  1. If you vote YES on cloture, that is a vote in SUPPORT of this hideous legislation. Period. You know the bill will pass if it goes to the Senate for passage, and so do we. Do not be an enabler to that.
  2. Your “support” of more money for the border in no way equals actually securing the border. We want to see the fence! It’s not enough to support appropriating the money; we will not believe the Imperial Federal Government will secure the border until we see it with our own eyes.

Amnesty, guest-worker programs, etc. must wait because we want to see the border secured first, and this “comprehensive bill” violates that simple principle. Simply put, we don’t believe your “promises,” and we know that government spending doesn’t equal results (and to believe so is evidence of Washington brain-rot).

Until there is a fence that we can touch, kick, and throw a rock at, we do not want to even CONSIDER further legislation to deal with these criminals who are in our midst. In the meantime, use the existing laws to round up the violent criminals and deport them immediately.

No new laws are needed.

We’ll deal with the remaining illegals when we’ve stopped the hemorrhaging.

As for the invaders who will have to wait: tough shit. Try being a legal immigrant before you complain about waiting. By the way, Americans despise jerks who break in line. If you can’t handle that then go home.
