Hillary Steps in It, Big Time

(thanks, Boortz)

Thank you, Hillary, for demonstrating yet again why you are a political whore not fit to occupy the office of Dog Catcher. Specifically, we’re referring to Hillary’s statements on illegal immigration reported in Clinton vows to block bill criminalizing illegal immigrants. From the article:

Clinton, a potential 2008 presidential candidate and relative latecomer to the immigration debate, made her remarks as the Senate prepares to take up the matter next week.

Clinton renewed her pledge to oppose a bill passed in December by the House that would make unlawful presence in the United States _ currently a civil offense _ a felony. The Senate is set to consider a version of that legislation, as well as several other bills seeking to address the seemingly intractable issue of immigration reform.

Surrounded by a multicultural coalition of New York immigration advocates, Clinton blasted the House bill as “mean-spirited” and said it flew in the face of Republicans’ stated support for faith and values.

“It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the Scriptures,” Clinton said, “because this bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself.”

Before we rip Hillary’s stance on illegal immigration, let’s remind everyone that whenever Hillary invokes “Jesus” the analogy is as inaccurate as it is sanctimonious. Remember, she claimed that “Christmas celebrates ‘the birth of a homeless child.’”

Uh, no. Having to travel to faraway lands to pay government taxes doesn’t make one homeless, Hillary. It makes one an unfortunate victim of an out-of-control, oppressive government that never takes into consideration the effect its taxation policies have on the people footing the bill. But, why would Hillary be able to comprehend such a simple truth?

As for her stance on illegal immigrants, Hillary is a political weather vane, and her keepers inside the beltway must be telling her that this position will score well with the illegals and their enablers who vote for candidates pledging to ignore our massive problems with illegal immigration. Again she demonstrates her disdain for those footing the bill, but this position is doomed to fail since most voting Americans recognize that she is dead wrong. Let’s start with a few facts:

  • Illegal aliens are lawbreakers. They are not “undocumented workers”.
  • Illegal aliens are not being “exploited for their cheap labor.” The whole reason they risk their necks getting here is to make more money in America in one year than they can make in their socialist hell-hole home countries in a lifetime.
  • Democrats and Republicans alike are aware of rampant voter fraud and want those illegal votes for themselves. Both parties pander to illegals for this reason.
  • Legal immigration made America what it is. Illegal immigration completely undermines, and makes a mockery of, that process.
  • Illegal immigration is profitable for employers who take advantage of it, and those businesses should be punished. If the cost of new houses or green fees increases, that just reflects market realities.
  • Illegal immigrants place a burden on America’s social-welfare system which means, in reality, that the burden is on legal, tax paying Americans who foot the bill for such folly. (Note: the Fair Tax would help alleviate this burden.)
  • As long as illegal immigration is tolerated, expect foreigners to exploit it. Who can blame them? Perverse incentives produce perverse results.

American citizens are sick and damned tired of illegal immigration for the reasons listed above. We are frustrated at our inept “leaders” who place their own political interests above the law and common sense. We are frustrated that both the Republicans and the Democrats are out-to-lunch on this issue, and we recognize that, as a result, our National Security is jeapordized by the porous borders. The party that tackles this menace honestly and forthrightly will be rewarded politically, and this is why Hillary’s position will not serve her ambitions for the White House in 2008.

It’s unfortunate that the average, hardworking, legal citizens of this country have to foot this bill, but that’s the predictable effect of Socialism. As an example, recall the Somalis who invaded Lewiston, Maine, in order to graft off of that welfare system. Here’s what Neal Boortz wrote in August, 2002:

Last week I told you about hundreds the thousand or so Somalis who have migrated from their homes in Atlanta, Georgia to the small community of Lewiston, Maine. Evidently one of their advance scouts discovered some rather generous housing and food welfare benefits in Lewiston – and the march was on. . Believe it or not, an Atlanta radio station which broadcasts a program aimed at Somalis, actually warned its listeners to pace their arrivals in Lewiston so that the social services system wouldn’t be overwhelmed. Well, it didn’t work. The residents of Lewiston found their social services budget more than doubled. Tax increases are in the offing to take care of their new residents.

Well, relief may be on the way for the residents of Lewiston. The Somalis have dispatched another team of welfare scouts and have discovered Augusta! So, to the residents of Augusta, Maine. —- get out your checkbooks. Thanks to your generous welfare program, you have company coming.

Again, no surprise. Socialism is summed up as, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” All socialist systems fail for exactly the same reason: when the government is empowered to take from the producers to give to the “needy” moochers (aka, “legalized theft”), the game becomes a race to see who can be the most “needy”. For a thorough treatise on this subject, we refer the reader to “Atlas Shrugged”, by Ayn Rand.

The soapbox is dented, so we’ll step off for now. Stay tuned, however, as we’ve barely begun to discuss the evil that is Socialism.
