Baby Noor out of hospital for now:

Three-month-old Noor al-Zahra of Iraq was discharged Friday from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, four days after surgeons performed a life-changing operation.

Doctors sent Noor home with a metro Atlanta host family arranged by Childspring International, a Christian charity that brings sick children to the U.S. for medical treatment.

They had planned to insert a shunt to drain fluid from the baby’s head but cancelled the surgery after detecting no accumulation of fluid.

Noor will return to Children’s Healthcare for a surgery to reposition her bladder. Doctors have not scheduled that surgery.
