The “Big 3” Boycott Pledge

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008 1:28 pm by Neal

Well, despite the protestations of the people not to “bailout” the Big 3 automakers, the overwhelming opposition to throwing good money after bad, and the fact that using TARP money for this “bailout” is simply illegal, it’s looking like lame duck President Bush is going to ignore the citizens of this country and bail out the automakers anyway.

Here’s our response:

We pledge, that from the day this bailout passes on into eternity, that we will NEVER, EVER buy another vehicle or product produced by either GM, Chrysler or Ford.

Please join us in taking the “Big 3 Boycott Pledge” to never support companies that lie to and steal from the American people.

UPDATE: Michelle has posted this letter from GOP Senators who are standing up to the White House threats to use TARP money to bailout the “Big 3 losers”:

December 16, 2008

Dear Mr. President,

We are writing to urge you not to use Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) funds to bail out the automobile industry. Last week, the Senate rejected a legislative bailout after the United Auto Workers (UAW) union refused to agree to changes necessary to help the Big Three automakers become competitive. According to news accounts, your Administration is considering providing TARP funds to the automakers without requiring the UAW and the automakers to make sufficient reforms. Absent such restructuring, we do not believe any amount of money will succeed in saving these companies.

Sincerely,

Jim DeMint

Jeff Sessions

John Ensign

Tom Coburn

John Cornyn

Michael Enzi

Saxby Chambliss

Way to go, Saxby! This is the kind of aggressive leadership conservative Georgians expect from their Senator!
